Date ; Thursday, April 05, 2007 Time ; 8:35 PM Title ; The end? Today we played against Nanyang... We lost!! ='( We lost 2-3... It was so... Heartbreaking. I honestly thought we could beat Nanyang!! Well, I began the competition helping Ms Beh umpire the RGS vs. PLMGS match... It ended super fast so that was good... While I was umpiring, Siew Yun was playing her first singles... After the umpiring, I immediately had to go line judge for the first doubles for the same match... It was over pretty fast too... Kah Yeen and Caryl had just started playing when I got back I think. They were going agaisnt Jessica and her partner... Siew Yun had lost her match... Caryl and Kah Yeen played super well I think! They beat the first doubles in straight sets!! Yay!! Then Pei Fen played her game. I was honestly quite worried because at the time we first reached Toa Payoh, she was in a bad mood and was ignoring all of us... Even Elisa... So she played, but she played quite okish I guess, but she lost still... Sad... Anyway, I played doubles next... I was partnering Joellyn, against Jessica Tan and her partner... It was darn freaky. I mean, if we lost that match, it would mean that we would definitely lose. I was playing like crazy... I was SUPER nervous because of obvious reasons... But I didn't really like the Nanyang people. They kept complaining on stuff and all. Like, when we wanted to take a break, they said they didn't want to so the umpire didn't let us! And later, when they asked for a break, we said no, but the umpire let them! What the hell? Is the umpire biased or something? Also, when the people smashed, Joellyn dodged it and it was out, and they were like,"Did she touch it?" There was something else too... But I can't remember what it is... Well, we beat them with a rubber set and 2 deuces... The scores were 17-15, 3-15 and 17-16. During the last few points, I was thinking like, if I don't win, I'm going to cry!! It was SO nervewrecking. Both sides were screaming like mad... I kept making so many mistakes throughout the game... Sigh... But I was SO happy when we won! That I started crying... Because like, I was so scared that we were going to lose... At the beginning of the rubber set we were losing 2-8 ok!! So I kept thinking that if I were to lose, I would cry, and when I won I started crying! I was so happy!!!!! So Smily was third singles, and both sides were cheering like mad because that was the deciding match. I guess it must have been a lot of pressure on Smily... And Smily can't play under pressure... And besides, it was the other girl's birthday today so Lady Luck must be on her side. The shuttle was an Ashaway one so Smily kept hitting really hard, and everything was going out and the girl had good judgement so... Sigh... I was so sad after the game I was crying. But only for a while. I should be quite happy I guess. We shook hands with all the people in Nanyang... We didn't have time to go to the canteen and had to leave immediately. But we couldn't see the bus and we saw a vending machine instead. But I didn't have enough coins. I wanted to get a Lemonade but Ms Beh had only 90 cents in coins so I got a coke instead. I just needed some sugar to make me feel better. The others didn't seem too upset about the loss really... All the singles lost, and the doubles won... Sigh. We have to go against RGS and PLMGS next. Is there really a chance, even the slightest one, of us getting into the top 4? I don't mean to be pessemistic, but honestly, I don't think so... This is so depressing. |
