Title ; An unproductive CNY

Sigh... This hasn't been one of the greatest CNY's for a few reasons. One of the reasons was that I didn't get that much hong bao money this year. The other reason was that I had vomited in somebody's house and I got a fever... Sad huh? I think i should just go through this long proccess.....

New Year's Eve

Went shopping in the afternoon and morning... Fast forward to reunion dinner... We had the usual reunion dinner(steamboat) and then after resting a bit after the reunion dinner, we went to Hagan Daaz! We had this nut ice-cream and a fondue. The first ever fondue of my life. And it was quite fun. Ny. We stayed up all the way till midnight but my biggest sister had to ruin the new year AGAIN...

New year's day

We woke up at 9 and then we changed into our new clothes and we went to bai nian. After bai nianing, we went to our grandmother's house and then to our grandaunt's house. That was all SO BORING! We just collected the hong baos and sat there doing nothing. We went back home and went out shopping again for the party we were holding that night. We were going to have steamboat again. So 5 families came and we got 3 hong baos. Pei ting, Pei li, Monica and I played risk and I sucked the most. I earned -1 territory...

CNY day 2

Whee. This was the most spectacular day. I woke up with a stomachache and Auntie Lee Chin came to our house. Then we went to my mum's friend's house and we didn't do much. Just sat around talking amongst ourselves. Oh yes, I met this girl, she's also a prefect in SCGS so when i saw her I was thinking that she was one of the prefects already. Later, at about 2 something, I needed to go to the toilet but it was being occupied so i was waiting outside. Suddenly I felt like I needed to vomit. I was trying to hold it back but I couldn't and it went out onto the beautiful big house floor(the house was huge mind you! 4 levels high and we think she bought 2 private houses and made them into one). I told mum and then I was going back when I vomited again...

So my mum took us home and i changed and went to sleep. I slept for a while and then I had a fever and then I took vitamins then I slept and then I had ice packs on my head and then I drank water and you get the idea. Later at night at about 9.30, I had some food and then I slept. Then according to my mum I was very hot so she gave me a super cold shower and I was FREEZING! I slept in my mother's room and I had air-con.

Today

Super boring. Wasn't allowed to go out. That's why i've been sitting in front of the tv all day. Just remembered that I have to do a profile for the prefects notice board... Sigh.

Title ; On to the Southzone Finals, WE CHARGE! (Again)

Woot! Yesterday both senior and junior teams played against CHIJ OLGC and both of us won! The juniors won 5-0, we won 4-1. But who cares if we lost?? We are still winners! Both teams will be playing against RGPS for the finals and I KNOW that we are good enough to beat them. Ok, let me just get to yesterday.

Well, the line-up was... Carolyn first singles, Marissa and Rebekah was 1st doubles, Siew yun, Joellyn and I and then Pei Fen. Our games took horribly long to start and when we started our first singles, the GES vs RGPS was already half way through their 1st doubles. While I was line judging, I found that the reason why we took so long to start was because one of the empires mother had passed away so he could not come. So the CHIJ OLGC coach took over the GES vs RGPS match. RGPS very obviously won.

Carolyn won her match and next was Marissa and Rebekah. They lost their game... Sad huh? So Joellyn and I felt this sort of heavy weight on us. We HAD to win... Siew Yun won her match too. So the score now was 2-1. Joellyn and I went up next, and we beat them!! We won 15-4, 15-0.

During Pei Fen's game, she told us not to cheer because otherwise she would feel nervous and do badly. So we only clapped and she won!! So you know the final score. After our game, we went over to the junior's side because they were playing their last match and Elena was up. She had won one set already. She was fighting for the 2nd set but she lost. So on to the 3rd set and final set. SHE WON!!!!

So we all rejoiced by running to the canteen and buying fries. I love the Hougang fries! :) So we went back home and blah blah blah blah blah. BORING....

Title ; A long but happy day

Although I got home at about 5 something, I can say that today is a good, fun day. A happy day as I call it. There were 4 highlights of the day that made it a happy day. I shall go through them one.... By.... One....

Ok... I shall start with the thing that happens the earliest in the day. Today we were having maths class and we went to the Maths room. We spent the whole maths lesson making nets. Sounds boring huh? But the class was really quite noisy and we were connecting all the pieces together. We made a triangle thingy, a pyramid and a... Something else.

Later, we went to the science room and we were just doing this experiment when Ms Koh suddenly whipped out a camera and started to take pictures of us. The funny part was that when people started to hide behind their books, she said, "It's no use. My camera is a video camera. If you hide behind your books, I will circle your picture and write your name on top of it." So we didn't have much of a choice. So she went to every table to take pictures.

I left badminton and 3.30 to go for my prefects meeting. We went to the CCA room and then we sort of talked until Mrs Zakaria came by. This is my first ever prefects meeting if you're wondering. So we sort of discussed all sorts of prefects stuff and now i've been put into the Special Events comittee. What this comittee does is that we plan all the occasions like teachers day and stuff. How fun is that? Caren is in this comittee too. But Ruth wasn't chosen so she and Kelly went into the Lost and Found comittee. The other types of comittees are the Discipline comittee, the Pupil's Suggestion comittee and the Noticeboard/publicity Comittee. So then we discussed some more things and it was quite fun. I got some booking slips so now I can book people! HAHAHAHAHA. I'm so evil sometimes...

The last good thing about today, is that we didn't have any ACTUAL homework. All we have to do is to sign our ting xie and do these gift tag things for the earthquake victims in Pakistan.

So the four happy day things, making nets, taking the photos during science, Prefects meeting and no ACTUAL homework! Some people made not find that happy but to me, I LOVE IT!

Title ; On to the Semi-finals!

Today we played against Gan Eng Seng, short from GES. We won again 5-0 for both teams. The juniors were playing agaisnt Hong Wen Pri. School. Wasn't THAT interesting a match. On the other court, CHIJ OLGC was playing against Raffles. And by the time we were on our 2nd doubles, they were playing their 1ST doubles!! Since Marissa and Rebekah were having their game and weren't able to line-judge, Joellyn and I took over.

Joellyn and I won our match 15-1, 15-2. I won't be surprised if next time we win 15-3, 15-4... IF we win... WHICH we will... We're going to be playing against CHIJ OLGC next Wednesday. If we win, we will probably be going against RGPS if they win. Which is most likely. Ms Miranti gave us these strawberry jellies and I ended up with 3 instead of 2.

The bus ride back was quite noisy I guess. A lot of us were walking up and down the bus to throw away our wrappers to our food. I am quite good at balancing on buses because I used to 'surf' on the school bus. And we were looking at the hand book, now the primary school has demerit points too! I can't believe it. If i get 10 demerit points, I will not be a prefect anymore. If I get 12, I will be suspended for about a week. And if anymore than 12, I will be EXPELLED!!! So serious! I cna't believe it. At least I only have to do this for 1 year in primary school. But when I go to secondary school... 4 years of pure torture! But i'm still going to go to SCGS sec.

Well, the hand book part was scary but that's about all that happened...

Title ; Into the South Zone

Today was our first ever competition of the year! The seniors(me) were playing against Keng Cheng Pri. while the juniors were playing against Raffles Girls Pri. What unlucky drawing for the juniors... So I changed before leaving class and when I was leaving class, Ms Kwok made the whole class clap for me!!!!! And I was just there, staring blankly. With my heavy bag.

We went down for lunch and ate at the study area. But the cleaner came by and said we weren't allowed to eat there. But we didn't exactly care. So we finished eating and sort of changerd our shoes and put our bags in the staff room(Not me, Carolyn and Anna though!). Then we got into the bus and started talking and playing all sorts of stuff.

Before we knew it, we were at Hougang sports hall. I think most of us missed the fries there. So we went into the hall and put our things down. We warmed up and then we stroked. Then Mrs Wong, Mr Wong, Ms Miranti and Mrs Tan sort of gave us a pep talk. Then we moved our bags and stroked some more. Then the whole team including the teachers and Mr and Mrs Wong came over and we did the 'Sc' Woosh! Mrs Wong was about to tell us the line up but Joellyn had already told us. So then Pei Fen was for first singles. Joellyn and I were first doubles, Carolyn was 2nd singles, Marissa and Rebekah were 2nd doubles and Siew Yun was 3rd singles.

So Joellyn and I played against these 2 girls. They weren't really what you call up to the SCGS standard. No offense here but you have had to watch it! Joellyn and I won both sets against them 15-0, 15-0. Bad huh? And Joellyn now thinks that I enjoy hitting people with the shuttlecock because I hit the girl 3 times. So we totally trashed them and good thing for us, Marissa and Rebekah won too! YAY! So that brought our total score to 5-0!!! YAY!

During Siew Yun's match, I devised a way to cheer for Siew Yun. I would go 'GO!', Joellyn would say 'SIEW!' and Marissa would say 'YUN!'. So we did that after a while and guess what?? It distracted her. So she served into the wrong court. But she still won anyway!

After Siew Yun's match, we ran over to the juniors side who were only on their 2nd singles. Elena was playing against, -gasp- Alethea Tan. Our former SCGS girl. The whole team was cheering like crazy. And when you put SCGS and RGPS together, absolute chaos. We could practically feel the ground rumbling. And Elena won! HA! Who asked Alethea to choose to leave SCGS. AND tell us that she would join Basketball. So afterwards, they played the last 2 games. And during the last 2 games. Joellyn heard a RGPS girl say 'How can SCGS win?' Well let me tell her something, maybe because we are better than you?? What and excellent eavesdropper Joellyn is(She asked me to add that!). So the juniors won 5-0 too!

After that we were all rushing to get fries but no SCGS girl managed to get it. And Siew Yun told us that Alethea Tan was now captain! I was kind of surprised knowing how talkative she is... So we just sat in the bus eating and talking. Nothing much happened after that... On to the next round!

Title ; The first Birthday Party of the Year!

Well, it was actually on Sunday but I was too busy with the CLASS website, I totally forgot to do it. So anyway, I got there quite late because we were very busy doing groceries in the morning.

I was the last to arrive so I had to take the lunch and drink with me into the car while we went to SRC. When we reached there, we took a look at the pool then went to the arcade to play some games. But there wasn't much. So we went to this small little kids zone and we were acting like weirdos. Then we went to the bowling alley.

We played 2 games in total. Megan won the first set and I won the second. Hui Ning is good at picking up the balls and giving it to us. Pei Wei was running around trying to take pictures of us. But the camera was very weird. We had some drinks half way through and then we finished bowling, we went back to the arcade and there were these irritating guys there.

They tried to close the door with this stool, but PW was smart, and she just opened the door. They closed it again, and Maryanne opened it again. Then they got irritated and pushed the small playground to the door. Then they started doing weird faces. But we opened the door again. So then we started shouting stuff at each other. PW was just talking about how their shoe size was their IQ and then they took their shoes into the room. We all thought they didn't want us to know what their IQ was. Then they called us chickens, so I called them pigs. And chauvinists. Some little girls wanted to go in too.

After that whole thing, we ate a bit then I had to go for Monica's piano recital. The recital was pretty boring. But the last 2 girls were playing really fast songs. Boring boring boring. Except for Monica's piece. That's about all!

Title ; Leadership Training '06

You know, I never really expected the Prefects Leadership training thing to be fun. But it really was! So basically all the activities we do and all are for a reason. Let me start from the beginning.

So basically I ate lunch with Caren, Kelly and Ruth and then we went up. We waited for awhile and then Mrs Tay and Mrs Singh arrived. We went into the AVA room and then we received this red colour file which held all the notes and everything. Then we went out to the big area outside the AVA room and then we played a game! It was sort of like and ice breaker. The idea of the game is to take the post-it notes off each others bag. The person with the most in hand wins... Nothing.

After that, we played a game called line-up. Mrs Singh would call out a category, for example, "Height". So we are supposed to arrange ourselves into that position. So the categories that were given were "Month of birthday", "Length of hair" and "Number of children in the family". Our group won the number of children in the family one because our numbers were only 2 and 3.

So we went back to the AVA room and I found out 2 of the P5 prefects names. Andrea and Alexandra. We sat down in the AVA room and talked about the game. Then we did this Natural Habt activity. We then sort of discussed the 5 questions that we had chosen from the 10 that they had given us on Wednesday. Then we did this REALLy funnily weird game. We were supposed to copy our partners actions. Caren and I were acting really weird. I saw Mrs Zakaria laughing. But it was really funny and through the whole entire thing, we were laughing away.

Then we did this worksheet thingy. We had to tick what we thought was required for a leader, then we ticked the ones that we thought we had. I think we did one more activity, then we had a break. For the break, Mrs Singh had bought us these cakes in 2 flavours. Kaya and chocolate. The thing that really pissed me off was that when we were lining up, I was behind Debbie. And then right after that, this irritating person called Elizabeth I think cut right into the line! I was like saying to Caren really loudly about someone cutting into the queue and she didn't move at all! I have no idea how she became a prefect. Sheesh. Bitch.

So after the break, we went back into the room and had some more of the talking and things like that. Then we went for another activity. This activity was about communication. The idea of the game is that the 2 people at the end of the row would have their eyes open while everyone was closing their eyes and leaning forward. Then Mrs Singh would toss the coin. And when it's heads, the 2 people with their eyes open will have to squeeze the person next to them's hand and then they pass it on until the last person and then the last person will open her eyes and grab the ball. For the first game, we got a point. Then the next game the other group got the point. Then we got the point again. Soon, it was my turn to grab. When I grabbed the ball, it turned out that it wasn't heads! So my group lost a point. That made in one all. Then it was my turn to look. The person opposite me didn't exactly know what to do. So when Mrs Singh tossed the coin, she was staring at my hand to see if I squeezed the other person. So when it was the turn to squeeze, I sent it out first but in the end the person opposite me got the ball. Then Caren came over to the side but we still lost the point.

We went back to the AVA room and we talked about communications. Then after the communication stuff, we went on to the last and final activity. It was called, "Marshmallow Tower"! We were split into 7 groups of 6 and we had to build the highest and most steady tower out of marshmallows and toothpicks in 7 minutes. We were very, very unsuccessful. Our group ended up with a pile of marshmallows flopping over each other. The good part was that we still had one more packet, and that was given to us to consume. So we spent a few more minutes eating and washing our hands. Then we went in and talked some more about the activity. Then we had a closing and then finish! Andrea, Alexandra and I finished the marshmallows up.

Title ; What a waste...

Sheesh! Now I have just wasted a precious $2.80. Just because the school insists that everybody buys a freaking SCGS Students Diary. I already have a perfectly fine, beautiful and sleek book! The book shop was so crammed that I ended up buying another 2 diaries for Caren and Jia Ying because they didn't want to squish... So after the squishing was done, we ate lays and I ate my peanut butter biscuits. Alls well, ends well!

Title ; It's a new Year...Ahhh...

Ok. I survived the first day of school! Not surprising? I thought so. Anyway, today really wasn't much. Well, I did have to go to school early to help with the P1's and all... But my job was basically to tell the people to take their jackets off. I was thirsty after all that!

The thing I like most about coming back to school on the first day is that we get to meet our friends again after the long break. And the other thing is that we don't have any lessons on the first day of school.

The thing I DON'T like about the first day of school is that I have to lug an extra heavy bag to school.

So anyway, we just sort of copied down our timetable, found out who our teachers were and GUESS WHAT? Last year, Ms Durrat said that there was a 99% chance that she would teach us again and guess what? It wasn't right! HAHAHA!!!! So we didn't do much. I played hangman with Mona, Elizabeth H., Rachel, Jia Ying and Qi Ying until school ended.
