Date ; Monday, November 06, 2006 Time ; 1:39 PM Title ; Sure ain't easy.... Well, I've started picking up how to jewellery designing to cure my boredom. Thanks to my mother, who gave the suggestion. So we went home, and now I'm taking a three-module private course from my very own sister. I finished 2 modules yesterday and I don't know when I'm going to do the last one. I'm paying her with the money she will earn from selling them! Haha! We shall become partners in business! But she says that since she buys the jewellery and all so I will get only 30%! How sad. Never mind! It's still something! For my first module, she taught me all the basics. I know quite a few basics already since I always watch her. So I identified the pliers and learnt the names of all those findings. The headpin, eyepin and the jump ring(or is it hoop?). Then she gave me the list of things I needed to get to make "The Candy Man". So i collected everything and she told me how to use the pliers and everything. I made one side first. She gives points for my stuff lah. I had to make these little loops, which weren't very round. But hey! I'm a beginner! So then I did some "extra credit" and made the other side of the earring. Yay! If you want to see how the actual Candy Man looks like, you can go to www.theglassbead.vze.com! For the 2nd module, I had to identify which beads and which findings I needed to make Ethereal which is a charm necklace. I think that's what it's called. So I got nearly everything correct, then I started on the actual thing. Hardly any help. I had to follow the actual thing to make it. I learnt one thing from this module. My sister is a nitpick. I put the leaf in the wrong way and she makes a fuss! Ah well. She IS gonna sell it... So I have a 100+ points now. I need like, 175 to get a high distinction! Yay... I think, for the last module I'll have to create my own design. Fereakay! But it's fun. She said that I'll even get a certificate! Hahaa... Jewellery making is hard, but it's quite simple. Am I contradicting myself? I think so. Ah well... |
