Date ; Monday, December 12, 2005 Time ; 2:00 PM Title ; I really won't mind living there... I just came back from my week long holiday yesterday. Boy, was it fun! Oh, I went to Sydeney and Melbourne by the way. This is going to be a terribly long blog so if you get bored, feel free to leave. Day 1 Nothing much, just arrived at the airport and all. I guess i'll tell you about the plane ride although that is the next day... We travelled by SIA and they were showing loads of great movies so I hardly slept all night. I watched Sky High twice and then played pokemon and mario then went to sleep. I woke up again and watched madagascar and had breakfast. At night, they gave us Kit Kat too! Nice late night snack. Day 2 The plane landed and we got our luggage, checked out and all. We looked at the rest of our group and then we headed for the bus. Our bus driver's name was Peter...I think. So first we went to a place near the Opera House and took pictures of the bridge too. My sis took a picture and planned to add the slogan 'Vodka on the Rocks'. The waves were really strong and some people tried to stand on this platform but the waves kept rushing on to them. Someone's slipper fell off. We then went straight to get a closer view of te Opera House and took more pictures... After all that, we went over the bridge and to the Sydney Tower to eat lunch in a revolving restaurant. The meal was all that great. My mum wanted coffee but they didn't serve. Except for one waitress. She secretly got 2 coffees. One for my mum, one for my sis. After that we went to Darling Harbour which is where the Sydney Aquarium was. That, was my highlight of the day. We went in and looked at all the fishes, and platypus... So small and cute. Then we saw some sort of lobster moulting. It was blue!! We walked on and we saw jellyfish which were really interesting. Then we went to see seals!! We walked underneath in those tunnel stuff. SO CUTE!! We continued on and we saw a long neck turtle and we saw two animals mating. My mum said that it was M18. Only she was allowed to watch it... Then we went to the oceanarium and saw sharks and eels and all those ocean animals. It was quite cool. Then we saw the fish from finding nemo! We saw a crocodile too. After we left, we got some stuff to eat. I got a mars bar and a cookie but the cookie ended up mostly in Monica's mouth. My mum had a coffee and my sis had water. We looked around the souvenir shop and then we went back to the hotel. We had a quick bath and then went down to eat dinner in chinatown. Chinese food you can guess. So after that we walked back. We met some people. I didn't ask for their names until later. Can only remember one of their names. Our tour guide is called WIlson. So we went back to our hotel and slept... Day 3 We had our morning call at 7, i think. We had breakfast and then we took a bus to Featherdale, Wildlife Park. This, is when we all noticed that my biggest sister, has a love for wombats and she herself said she related to them because they are fat and lazy. We saw emus and birds and bats. We fed the kangaroos!! We saaw a crocodile again and a dingo. we took a picture with a Koala too. After the animals, my mum bought my biggest sis and I ice-creams. Monica wasn't allowed. After all that we took a long trip to the blue mountains and saw the three sisters. The wind was really, REALLY strong and we nearly got blown away. After that we had to buy lunch at our own expense. We went to yet another revolving restaurant. I had fish and chips. After lunch, we went to this thing called the SkyWay. The idea of it is that we go on this thing, the floor opens up into glass and we can look down. Cool huh? The stops were always bumpy. We went to this lookout point and took more pictures and then we went back to the other side. After all THAT, we went to the Bygone Beauty. It was nothing much. Just this teapot collection. We went back to the hotel washed up and had dinner at... We went to the other Metro hotel and had some food. All very salty. Even the fruits. We went to Coles and bought Tim tam then went to our hotel room and watched Herbie Fully Loaded while eating Tim Tams. Then after that we went to sleep. Day 4 Our free day in Sydney. So basically, we spent it shopping. We went to Market City and found out that it had a Factory Outlet. So we went up and my mum bought a pair of walking shoes. She's really happy with them. My biggest sis bought a shirt which had the slogan " Do i look like a person who cares?" Or something like that. After that my sis and mum had coffee and I had a doughnut. We then went downstairs to Paddy's Market and I bought a Von Dutch handbag, some key chains for souvenirs and that's about it... I think. So after that we walked to Queen Victoria Building. We made 3 stops on the way. The first one was at a shop called SES i think. I bought a t-shirt and a really nice boho skirt. The 2nd stop was at Starbucks because my mum was so happy with our buys. I had a hot chocolate, my sister had a ice cremebuleh(sp.. I know) latte and my mum had some coffee. We also had a caramel and peppermint slice. YUM! After that we arrived at a expensive shop and my mum ended up buying a hand bag from boticelli. So we made it to Queen Victoria building and my mum bought another hand bag. WE went to a shop called accesorize and my mum bought a scarf/shawl and my sister bought a purse and my other sister bought a clutch. I started feeling tired after awhile. We all visited the toilet. WOW! AMAZING! It was huge and the cubicles were big and there was a seat in the toilet... Because i was so tired, my mum treated me to a ice-cream and they walked around buying more stuff. We walked out of QVB without knowing it. We walked back and had dinner. We ate chicken Rice. Oh yeah, my sister found out that she won this journalism award and has a chance to work with TODAY news paper. So we started to walk back to our hotel and my sis bought a clutch. We wre going to take a taxi but the traffic was crazy. We came to a store called bargain paradise and we all bought something except my biggest sis. I bought a jumpsuit, my mum and Monica bought a shirt. Rest of the day boring. Day 5 Today we woke up earlier and had to take our breakfast to our hotel room. We ate and packed to go to Melbourne! We took the domestic flight. Monica and I fell asleep during the whole trip. When we reached there, we got a nice cheerful driver who kept saying, "see you tomorrow!" whenever we were supposed to get down. We went to a church and Monica started getting cramps. So I had to travel around with my biggest sis. The place was really beautiful and we took stupid pictures of us following what the statue was doing. We went to Captain Cook's hut after that. There was also a consevatory. All really nice. We wrote comments and then back to the bus. After that we went to a factory outlet. My mum bought a shawl and a pair of shoes. I bought an aries t-shirt. We had lunch and then we went back to our hotel. I didn't bathe or anything. My mum and Monica had to miss the Penguin Parade because of her cramps. So we had to tag a long with Wan Jia and her family. FYI, Wan Jia is a duaghter with her sister and parents. Wan Jia and her sis are adults. We had a really long trip there and we had a lobster dinner just that i couldn't eat the seafood. Another family was nice to us too. So we rode all the way to phillip Island. OMG! THE PENGUINS WERE SO DAMN ADORABLE! We watched them waddle up the beach, up the hill. Later we went to the souvenir shop and bought 2 postcards. 1 for pei ting and 1 for Monica. We got back to the bus, and saw a penguin in the grass. On the way out we saw a wild rabbit too. Slept for the rest of the trip. Got back to the hotel, conked out again. At the hotel, mum complained about Wilson, who blocked all the movies, so she had to watch Elvis Presley all night. Day 6 Woke up, had breakfast, travelled to the Great Ocean Road. We stoppped at the Tree Top Walk first. We had lunch at our own expense. We started our tree top walk and saw all the stuff. We came to this thing called the... Soemthinglever. We were supposed to jump to make the thing move. This guy came along and told us that we shouldn't jump. Sheesh. Doesn't he read the thing?? We climbed up a spiral staircase and got to look out. Really high up. I finally figured out her name. It is Jolene. She's Sec 3 and goes to St Marg. After the tree top walk, we went to see the 12 apostles. The rocks were beatiful but i HATED the flies!!! There were SO MANY! I covered myself up like an eskimo. On the way back, we found out that a tree had fallen down in our path so we went to see the London Bridge instead. It's not that London Bridge. It's just a rock which has a hole in between to look like a bridge. On the way back, I asked Monica to take a picture of a horse on the fields. They are so cute! We dropped some people off at the hotel then went to Chinatown for some shopping because we THOUGHT that the shops will be open. NOOO. They closed at 5. So we went to have dinner and we ate Xiao Long Bao. We bought all our sovenirs and then went back. The Horse Carriages were really nice but it was pretty expensive. We went back to pack and then went to sleep. While i was trying to sleep, my biggest sister called and my mum picked up. my biggest sister asked,"what is the giraffe's name?" You don't know what that means? Neither did I. Day 7 During breakfast, we found out what the giraffe meant. She was talking about the giraffe from Madagascar. I immediately answered her and she told us the story. She thought that the giraffe was called Sherman until just before she slept. We did last minute packing and then we left for the airport. Our driver was telling us all these australian jokes. We reached the ariport and checked in. We did some shopping and bought mentos and loads of gummies. We never really got my biggest sisters wombat. We got onto the plane and I watched sky high another 2 times. I played pokemon and mario too. I also watched little Manhattan. Then I watched sky high again. Later, They collected our headphones while my biggest sis was watching sky high for the first time. So i just helped her narrate since i watched in loads of times. During the ride, they served us ice-cream and tim tams. I love SIA!!! Because of our rush after getting off the plane, we never got to say goodbye to our tour group. Sad. Personally, I like Sydeny more. It isn't as cold as Melbourne. I won't mind living there. The Aussies are really very friendly. |
